One of the World’s Tallest Structures Monitors Building Management Operations with Galileo Video Wall Processor

One of the world's tallest structures monitors with Galileo processor

One of the world’s tallest buildings is a vast vertical city within itself, and its scale and complexity require the most sophisticated facilities management. Its building management system (BMS) controls and monitors the internal environment through a myriad of systems, including access control, security, closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance, motion detectors, fire and life safety, elevators and transport, water management, power, lighting, ventilation, plumbing, waste management, and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC).

The BMS control room is equipped with two video walls and a monitoring station, all powered by a single Galileo display processor from RGB Spectrum. The processor was selected for its excellent 4K image quality and ability to support multiple display surfaces.

The Galileo processor receives baseband inputs from workstations running the various BMS applications. It consolidates these into correlated views on the video walls for monitoring. Inputs are displayed in windows of any size, in any position on the two video walls and monitoring station. These can be routed to any and all display surfaces. Using a simple, intuitive GUI, operators can select preset display layouts, switch and route sources, and size and position windows on the fly.

The Galileo processor supports both conventional baseband and IP stream inputs at up to 4K resolution. The processor supports all types of video walls: an image overlap capability is available for projector-based video walls, custom timings accommodate the special resolutions of LED walls, and bezel compensation optimizes viewing with LCD video walls. The Galileo processor supports whatever display technology is chosen.

Advanced features include a unique "wall mimic", whereby the entire wall display or any region of interest can be encoded and streamed for live viewing elsewhere, HDCP content protection, scripting for third-party system control, and automatic IP stream discovery for RGB Spectrum’s Zio® Video-over-IP encoders.

The Galileo processor is the ideal solution for security operations centers, control rooms, command centers, entertainment and sports venues, boardrooms, education, corporate lobbies, and digital signage.
